To Mend a Sock

Juliet Yok Yin Wong Min

I believe that repairing is an important and good practice that everyone should have and should think about before discarding a damaged product.

While mending my sock, at first I was not really sure if the way I was doing it was correct and I was thinking about whether or not I wanted to hide the fact that the sock had a hole and was “repaired” or to actually use it as an aesthetic feature that will be added. Since my sewing skills were quite limited, I did not hide it. So I decided to sew two dots and a curve to create a smiling face. I am satisfied with what I achieved and I found it funny to see a smiling face just below one of my toe when I wear the sock. Now the object has a humorous approach instead of just being functional.
